Traveling with Norwegian
Norwegian is the largest airline in Norway and a significant low-cost carrier across the Nordic region. Following a major restructuring and the 2024 acquisition of Widerøe, Norwegian now focuses primarily on short-haul and medium-haul routes across Europe. Its main hubs are Oslo Airport, Copenhagen and Stockholm.
For summer 2026, Norwegian plans to operate 350 routes to more than 120 European destinations with a fleet of approximately 97 Boeing 737 aircraft (a mix of 737-800 and 737 MAX 8). Norwegian does not currently operate transatlantic routes — its focus in 2026 is on the European and Nordic market. Travelers looking for a transatlantic low-cost option may wish to look at Norse Atlantic Airways, which is a separate airline.
Norwegian's network
Norwegian connects Nordic cities (Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki) to each other and to key UK and European destinations. From London Gatwick, Manchester, Edinburgh and Newcastle, the carrier runs year-round and seasonal routes to Scandinavian capitals and leisure destinations across Europe.
Norwegian's strength is in affordable intra-European and Nordic flying. For US-based travelers, Norwegian is most relevant for the European leg of a trip — connecting from a transatlantic gateway in the UK or Europe onto a Norwegian-operated route within the continent.
Route information reflects the published network for Norwegian as of September 2026 and can change; check the airline directly for current schedules.
