Independent travel assistance
Independent Travel Assistance for Lufthansa Passengers
Lufthansa connects the US to Germany and a wide European and global network via Frankfurt and Munich. We help US travelers handle Lufthansa bookings and itinerary changes.
MyFlightsAssist is independent from Lufthansa. MyFlightsAssist is an independent travel agency. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any airline.
What we can help with
Transatlantic changes and cancellations
Lufthansa's US–Europe fares vary considerably. We check your specific ticket's rules before recommending any action.
Connections through Frankfurt or Munich
Lufthansa operates from two main German hubs. Changes that affect your FRA or MUC connection need to account for both legs of your journey.
Business Class planning
Lufthansa's Business Class on long-haul routes uses a fully flat seat product. We help plan premium transatlantic itineraries.
Star Alliance partner connections
Lufthansa is a Star Alliance member and coordinates closely with United Airlines on transatlantic routes. We handle multi-carrier booking changes.
Traveling with Lufthansa
Lufthansa is Germany's flag carrier, operating primarily from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and Munich Airport (MUC). It is the parent airline of the Lufthansa Group, which also includes SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines. Lufthansa is a Star Alliance founding member.
Lufthansa's US network is extensive: from Frankfurt, established routes serve New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, Atlanta, Detroit, Washington Dulles and others. Munich adds additional US gateways including Boston (A380), Los Angeles (A380), New York JFK (A380) and Washington Dulles. For Summer 2026, Lufthansa added new Frankfurt routes including St. Louis, Raleigh/Durham (daily) and Washington Dulles (up to twice daily).
Lufthansa US routes
Frankfurt remains Lufthansa's largest US hub, with multiple daily departures to New York, Boston and Chicago, and service to more than a dozen other American cities. Munich offers a smaller but growing US operation including A380 service to Boston, Los Angeles, JFK and Washington Dulles.
For 2026, Lufthansa's first-quarter schedule showed frequency adjustments on several US routes — some temporarily reduced — as the airline manages seasonal demand and fleet positioning. We confirm current frequencies on your specific dates before booking.
Route information reflects the published network for Lufthansa as of September 2026 and can change; check the airline directly for current schedules.
How MyFlightsAssist can help
Lufthansa's fare rules and change policies follow Star Alliance norms in many respects but have their own specifics, particularly on discounted transatlantic fares. We check your ticket's actual conditions before recommending a change or cancellation.
Any fare, fee or penalty set by Lufthansa is separate from our own professional service fee. See our Service Fees page for details.
